Bespoke ecommerce platform provider, Remarkable Commerce has announced a partnership with Westbrook Cycles that have seen it re-platform the cycling specialists’ website to increase orders, page speed and session duration.
Remarkable Commerce has also developed several new functions for the Westbrook Cycles Parts Finder system, which enables customers to find specific components to fit their existing bikes.
Cyclists can now quickly find their specific bike components out of the 20,000 items on the site, without even knowing the name of their make or model, using a tailored image-finding system developed by Remarkable.
The re-platforming of the website has seen a 60% year-on-year average-order-value growth, a 15% increase in page speed, and a 40% increase in session duration and engagement length.
Aspects of the re-platform include the rebuilding of the Parts and Components Finder Solution after it was hampered by the previous platform, full integration with over ten brand stock feeds, and new payment method integrations including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Adyen.
In the five-month re-platform project, Remarkable migrated Westbrook’s all stock feeds, product and customer data.
Since the new site launched in June 2022, the new storefront and integration of personalisation technology have seen an immediate growth in Westbrook’s website performance.
Head of product at Remarkable Commerce, Bradlie Houldsworth, said: “We’re delighted we were able to provide Westbrook Cycles with an eCommerce platform fit for purpose. Our clients rely on our ability to tailor any storefront feature (or admin function), to behave or look in a way that suits them, without any restriction or limitation and that’s exactly what we’ve done for the Westbrook Cycles team.
“Our agility to tweak any line of code in the entire platform, and create a unique version of our platform for each client enables customisations to be feasible and Westbrook has already reaped the benefits of that. Retailers require customisation and personalisation so they can gain a competitive edge, but more retailers need to come onside and welcome personalisation as a move with the times.”
Owner and Director of Westbrook Cycles, Paul Richardson, added: “The Remarkable team were able to easily recreate a custom function that we had previously designed on our old site, but they re-imagined particular elements of it – which made it much easier for us to now manage the components for each bike and have greater control over the entire parts finder.
“The new Remarkable Commerce platform now enables us to begin retailing without constraints and restrictions, knowing that the platform and the development team can deliver what we need. The team at Remarkable are great to work with and we are looking forward to working closely with them, to help us to grow our sales and brand.”
