Scottish cycle clothing and accessories brand Endura have achieved B Corp certification, a significant milestone in their efforts to become better as a business.
The B Corp certification from B Lab demonstrates Endura’s commitment to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
B Corps are a growing and active community of leading companies that use business as a force for good. They are held to high standards across a range of factors, including their treatment of workers, their environmental impact, and their contributions to the society.
B Corporation certification entails a thorough and robust process. Companies are evaluated using the B Impact Assessment (BIA), an online tool that measures performance against the B Corp standards. These standards undergo a rigorous review process every three years to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness.
The Scottish based manufacturer of cycling apparel and accessories have been working hard over recent years to put sustainability at the heart of everything they do and have taken numerous steps to improve their processes, remove harmful chemicals such as PFAS and PTFE from their products and reduce their environmental footprint. Endura’s B Corp status has been achieved through a company-wide program that has seen a multi-functional internal team assess against the exacting standards, supported by their parent group, Pentland Brands.
Pentland Brands are committed to positive business and have ambitious plans to take action for people and our planet. Pentland have developed their 100-1-0 positive business strategy, which sets out three major goals to be delivered by 2032, the company’s centenary year:
+ Helping 100 million consumers live positive, active, sustainable lifestyles
+ Improving the lives of 1 million people in our communities
+ Becoming a net zero business
Noah Bernard, SVP, Endura, said: “Achieving B Corp status is a great step in the right direction. The team have done an amazing job of assessing the wide range of activities that are covered under B Labs standards and taking necessary measures to ensure that we exceeded the pass mark. We’re looking forward to making further progress over coming years as we support Pentland Brands 100–1-0 strategy.”
Sara Brennan, Positive Business Director, Pentland Brands, added: “Endura getting B Corp certification is a fantastic way of demonstrating and validating the great work Endura is doing in becoming more sustainable. It’s a great step forward for them in becoming part of the B Corp community and as the second brand in the Pentland Brands portfolio to achieve B Corp status. It’s another important milestone for Pentlands 100-1-0 Positive Business strategy.”
