PTO partnership announcement

The Official Virtual Ride Partner of the 2023 PTO Tour

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has announced a new partnership with ROUVY, who will become the Official Virtual Ride Partner of the 2023 PTO Tour.

As part of the partnership, the leading indoor cycling platform will give amateur triathletes the exclusive opportunity to join a Virtual Ride by ROUVY on the exact PTO Asian Open course in Singapore alongside some of the world’s best triathletes a month before the big races take place on 19-20 August.

“This is a significant partnership for ROUVY as we put more of a marketing focus on triathlon, in order to provide triathletes with relevant content on our platform that helps them prepare for race day,” said ROUVY CEO, Petr Samek.  “The PTO Tour races are fast becoming the pinnacle of the sport, with world class fields meaning the best athletes are racing head-to-head on a consistent basis – and also giving Age Groupers the chance to experience the same course over the same weekend. But training for a bike course you’ve never ridden before can be tough, so by giving all athletes the chance to experience it virtually is proving both a helpful training tool and a cool experience.”

Rouvy is revolutionising the indoor cycling platform industry. By offering more than 15,000 augmented routes, filmed on video around the world and enhanced with AR, riders can explore the world or train on famous routes for upcoming events from their home.  As well as partnering with the PTO Tour, ROUVY also partners with Challenge Family and Challenge Roth in Triathlon and La Vuelta in cycling.

Commenting on the news, PTO CEO Sam Renouf said: “ROUVY’s big strength as a platform is to enable professional and amateur athletes the chance to ride real routes at home. The Singapore course for the PTO Asian Open will be stunning and take in a number of the city’s iconic landmarks such as the Helix Bridge, Marina Bay Sands, Merlion, the Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Financial District. By partnering with them in this way, we’re able to give all our athletes a unique opportunity to try out and train on the course virtually before race day.”

Soon, fans will be able to register for the Virtual Ride by ROUVY for the PTO Asian Open, which will be held in July. Find out more about ROUVY here.

The 2023 PTO Tour started in Ibiza on Saturday (6 May) with the first-ever PTO European Open delivering two exciting races against a stunning Ibiza backdrop. It now goes to Milwaukee on 4-5 August for the PTO US Open and then to Singapore for the inaugural PTO Asian Open on 19-20 August.

The PTO European Open men’s field included all three of the Olympic gold medallists in the sport since 2008 – Kristian Blummenfelt, Jan Frodeno and Alistair Brownlee, but was ultimately won by PTO World #7 Australian Max Neumann. The women’s start list featured 8 of the top 10 PTO Ranked female athletes and was won by PTO World #5 Anne Haug. It was broadcast live around the world to 195 territories, courtesy of the PTO Tour’s partnerships with Warner Bros. Discovery and a range of other international, regional and local broadcasters including DAZN, beIN Sports and SPOTV.
