The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has announced that global sports marketing agency Talisman will lead its commercial partnership development for the upcoming PTO Asian Open in Singapore on 20-21 August, 2023.
The inaugural PTO Asian Open will host the world’s top female and male professional triathletes around a specially designed new course in the Marina Bay Financial District – as well as offering exciting opportunities for amateur triathletes and everyday sports enthusiasts to also get involved, thanks to a range of age-group races over the same weekend.
Talisman will lead sales for the Singapore event in addition to continuing to support the PTO’s commercial partnership development of the broader 2023 PTO Tour that includes races in the US and Europe.
“We are honoured to be entrusted with the responsibility of helping the PTO secure their first partnerships for the PTO Asian Open,” said Talisman Managing Director, Charlie Evans.
“The PTO is revolutionizing the Triathlon space and having already supported their global efforts it is a very natural extension for Talisman and the PTO to work together on this event in Singapore. With our extensive experience in Asia, we are strongly positioned to help secure the most relevant partners for this event and look forward to taking this opportunity to market and engaging relevant businesses to discuss partnerships.”
Commenting on the appointment, PTO CEO Sam Renouf said: “Triathlon has often been called ‘the new golf’ and with the launch of the PTO Asian Open in Singapore, we are bringing a unique opportunity to engage with a high value executive audience, directly at the event and through our global broadcast. This will be a powerful proposition to build commercial partnerships around and I look forward to working closely with Talisman to achieve this.”
Earlier this month, the PTO announced a three-year partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Sport Singapore to expand its PTO Tour into Asia. The first-ever PTO Asian Open will feature a professional women’s and men’s 100km race (2km swim; 80km bike; 18km run) that will be broadcast live around the world to 170+ territories courtesy of the PTO Tour’s partnerships with Warner Bros. Discovery and a series of other regional and national broadcasters.
Alongside the professional races, there will also be the unique chance for amateurs to compete over the same 100km course as seen on the global broadcast of the world’s top ranked athletes. Further information on the amateur events is available on the PTO website.
